About Hola Papeles

Are you the Police, the Immigration Office or a public body?
No. We are a private document-management service. We are not the Police, the Ministry or any public authority. Official forms are free to download from official websites and appointments are free; official fees are paid to the authority. You pay us to prepare, check and manage your file.
Are you lawyers? Do you give legal advice?
No. Hola Papeles provides a document-management and preparation service; it is not a law firm, it does not give legal advice and it does not guarantee results. If your case needs a lawyer, we tell you: we do not take it on, and we recommend that you consult an independent lawyer or the Legal Guidance Service (SOJ) of your local Bar Association.[1]
Do you sell appointments?
No, never. Appointments are personal and free. We explain how to book the appointment yourself, free of charge, on the official appointment portal[2]. We do not request or book it for you, and we never resell or hoard appointments.
Can you attend the fingerprint appointment for me?
No. Fingerprinting for the TIE is always in person: you have to go yourself.[3]
Do you guarantee approval?
No. The authority decides. What we commit to is preparing a complete, checked file.
Do you submit the application on my behalf?
No. Hola Papeles does not submit applications on your behalf or act for you before the authorities. You submit the application yourself. For procedures under RD 1155/2024, a person you choose can also submit it with valid authorisation (notarial or apud acta power of attorney, art. 197.4.a). The EU registration certificate and the EU family member card must be applied for in person (art. 12.1 RD 240/2007).[4][5]

Prices and payment

What does the price include?
Our fee, VAT included: review of your documents against the official requirements, forms, the official fee form, instructions so that you can book the appointment yourself, and follow-up. The official fee is paid separately.
Why is the official fee separate?
Because it is a payment to the authority, not to us. You pay it at a bank or online with the 790-012 form we prepare for you.[6] The amounts are set in Order PJC/617/2025.[7]
How much is the official fee for the NIE and the TIE?
NIE: €9.84. First-issue TIE: €16.08. TIE renewal: €19.30. Long-term residence TIE: €21.87. TIE for family members of Spanish citizens: €12. EU registration certificate, EU family member card and Brexit TIE: €12.[7]
What is not included?
Official fees, the notary (if you give a power of attorney), sworn translation, apostille or legalisation of foreign documents, and travel.
How do I pay?
By card, on Stripe’s secure payment page. Your card details never pass through us. You only pay our fee; you pay the official fee separately to the authority. Name shown on the payment page and on your card statement: “Hispania Atlantic”, the name under which Hola Papeles charges for its services. Prices are in euros and you are charged in euros. If your card uses another currency, your card issuer may apply its own conversion and fee.
Can I start now?
Yes. Choose your procedure under Procedures and press “Start”. Before paying you see our fee and the official fee separately.
Do you issue invoices?
Yes. We will send you an invoice for our fee with VAT shown separately, by email.

Withdrawal and commitments

Can I cancel?
Yes. You have 14 calendar days to withdraw without giving any reason.[8] You can do it with the “Withdraw from contract here” button in the footer of every page.[9]
What if you have already started working?
If you asked us to start within the 14 days: if you withdraw while we are working, you only pay for the part already done; once we have completed the service, you can no longer withdraw (you accepted this when you asked us to start).[8]
Do you offer any guarantee?
We do not offer a commercial guarantee. Your statutory rights apply, including the 14-day right of withdrawal. We never promise what the authority decides. You have 14 days to withdraw; if we have already started at your request, you only pay for the part done. See Commitments and trust.

Documents and privacy

Where do I upload my documents?
We don't ask for documents now. After payment we'll email you how to send them to us securely. Never by WhatsApp. Do not upload criminal record certificates: we do not ask for or process them.
Do my documents go through Stripe?
No. Stripe only processes the payment. Your documents and immigration data are never sent to Stripe.
Will you ask for my Cl@ve or digital certificate?
Never. We do not ask for Cl@ve passwords, digital certificates, PINs or verification codes. If anyone asks for them in our name, do not give them.
How long do you keep my documents?
Only as long as needed: procedure documents are deleted when the service ends. We only keep what the law requires (for example, invoices). Details are in the privacy policy.
Do I need to translate my documents?
In general, foreign public documents must be translated into Spanish by a sworn translator and legalised or apostilled, unless exempt (for example, some standard EU forms).[10] We tell you which ones the official list requires.

Procedures and timing

How long until I get an appointment?
It varies by province and we do not control it. What we do is have your file ready for when the appointment comes.
Do I have to apply online?
Not necessarily. In 2026 the Supreme Court annulled art. 197.2 of the Immigration Regulation, which required several authorisation applications to be filed electronically.[11][12] You can file them on paper with an appointment or electronically. The NIE, the EU certificate and the TIE are done in person with an appointment.
What is the difference between the NIE and the TIE?
The NIE is your foreigner identity number. The TIE is the physical card that documents your stay or residence authorisation and carries your NIE.[13][3]
I am an EU citizen. Do I need a TIE?
No. If you will live in Spain for more than 3 months, you apply for the EU citizen registration certificate.[14] Your non-EU family members apply for the EU family member card.[10]
I lost my TIE. What should I do?
Report it to the police and apply for a replacement as soon as you can.[3] The new card is valid for the time the old one had left.[3]
I missed my renewal date. Can I still renew?
It depends on your card. If you hold a general-regime authorisation (non-lucrative residence, family reunification, employed or self-employed work, family member of a Spanish national, exceptional circumstances such as arraigo, or a study stay) or a long-term residence card, renewal or extension is requested in the two months before expiry. You can still apply within the three months after expiry, although a penalty procedure may be opened (RD 1155/2024, arts. 55, 64, 71, 80, 86, 95, 132, 178 and 185).[4] EU family member cards are governed by RD 240/2007, which has its own rules.[5] If more than three months have passed, consult an independent lawyer or your local Bar Association’s Legal Guidance Service (SOJ).[1]
Do you handle the extraordinary regularisation?
No. The application period ended on 30 June 2026.[15]
Are there changes to the Immigration Law?
We check the BOE (Official State Gazette) and official sources and update each page with its review date. We only publish changes once they are approved and officially published.
