Official Ministry fee (form 790 code 107): €166.50. You pay it directly to the Ministry; we do not collect it. Estimated total cost: €365.50 (€199 for our service + €166.50 fee). Apostille, legalization and translation not included.[3]

Who is it for?

It’s for you if…

  • You hold an official university degree from outside Spain, for completed studies, and want it recognised here.[1][7]
  • You need to practise a regulated profession in Spain (for example medicine, nursing, architecture or certain engineering fields): you need homologation (homologación).[5]
  • You are asked to prove a Bachelor’s or Master’s level for public exams, a public-sector job, further studies or an employer: you need equivalence (equivalencia).[6]

It’s not for you if…

  • Your qualification is not a university degree (secondary school, vocational training…): that goes to the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.[7]
  • You only want individual courses credited to keep studying: you ask a Spanish university for that.[7]
  • You did not finish your studies: the procedure only covers completed degrees.[7]

Homologation or equivalence: the difference, in plain words

HomologationEquivalence
What it recognisesYour degree as a specific official Spanish Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.Your degree at an academic level (Bachelor’s or Master’s), not as a specific degree.
What it’s forPractising a regulated profession in Spain.Public exams, public jobs, studies or employers asking for a level. It does not qualify you for a regulated profession.
Extra requirementsYou may need to prove Spanish (for example DELE B2) and, where applicable, professional qualification. No language or professional qualification requirement.

Official documents

List based on Royal Decree 889/2022 (art. 13) and the Ministry’s official checklist. Before you submit, we review it with you document by document.

  • Proof of identity and nationality (passport or national ID). If you live in Spain, you can authorise the Ministry to check your identity.[4]
  • Your university degree, or the official certificate that it has been issued.[4]
  • Academic transcript showing the official length of the programme, the subjects, the hours of each and, where applicable, ECTS credits.[4][6]
  • Degree and transcript legalized through diplomatic channels or with the Hague apostille. Not needed for documents issued in the EU, the European Economic Area or Switzerland; needed for the UK and the US.[1][4]
  • Official translation into Spanish of any document not in Spanish (for example, by a sworn translator).[1][4]
  • Payment of fee form 790 code 107 (€166.50). If you pay online through the e-office, no receipt is needed.[3]
  • Homologation only, where applicable: proof of Spanish (DELE B2 or higher, or another accepted document) and professional qualification.[4][5]
  • A signed statement that your data are true and that you hold the originals; if a representative acts for you, proof of representation.[4]

Where you apply

You apply online at the Ministry’s e-office: there is one procedure for homologation and another for equivalence.[2][7] You can track your file there too. The fee can be paid online, with form 790-107 at a partner bank, or by bank transfer from abroad.[3]

The decision is the Ministry’s, not ours. We don’t promise timeframes or outcomes. We don’t file the application on your behalf: we get everything ready and guide you step by step so you can submit it yourself.

What we do

  • We check whether you need homologation or equivalence.
  • We review your documents: degree, transcript, apostille or legalization and translation.
  • We fill in the application and form 790-107 for you.
  • We give you a step-by-step guide to submit it at the e-office.

What you do

  1. Get the apostille or legalization and the official translation if missing (not included).
  2. Pay the €166.50 official fee.
  3. Submit the application at the e-office with your electronic ID.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the official fee?
€166.50 (form 790 code 107), for both homologation and equivalence. It is paid separately from our price, directly to the Ministry. According to the Ministry, it is not refunded if the application is rejected as inadmissible, lapses or is refused; it is only refunded for duplicate payments made by mistake through the online payment gateway.[3][7]
Does my degree need an apostille?
If it was issued outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, yes: the degree and the transcript must be legalized or apostilled. UK and US documents too.[1]
Do I need a sworn translation?
Documents not in Spanish need an official translation, for example by a sworn translator. Translation is not included in our price.[1]
Can you guarantee approval?
No. The decision is the Ministry’s. We prepare and check your application so it is complete.
